RADIO & PODCASTS
A speech audio producer and qualified broadcast journalist, experienced in developing and producing content and programmes for BBC Radio 4, the BBC World Service, and the indy sector (Whistledown, Somethin’ Else, Novel). I have produced countless interviews with established and emerging authors and academics, and always build trusting and collaborative relationships with contributors, whether they are famous authors or individuals brand new to radio.
At BBC Radio 4, drawing on my specialism in critical social and political sciences, and my love of arts and humanities, I was a producer for flagship sociology show ‘Thinking Allowed’ and a long-term producer of global ideas show ‘The Forum’ for the BBC World Service. There, I made shows on thinkers including James Baldwin, Chinua Achebe and Henry David Thoreau. I have also worked on e.g. the arts shows ‘Front Row’ and ‘The Cultural Frontline’, ideas shows such as ‘Start the Week’, ‘In Our Time’, topical shows such as ‘Woman’s Hour’ and Radio 5 Live’s ‘Pienaar’s Politics’, and the human interest shows ‘Last Word’ and ‘Outlook’.
I currently produce the globally popular sociology podcast ‘Uncommon Sense’ for The Sociological Review (SR), as well as making other podcasts for them, including audio essays with leading academics, produced collaboratively.
